Antwerpen-Centraal railway station was opened on 11 August 1905, oldest railway station in the world. During World War II, the V-2 bombs damaged the train hall. In 2011, the station was awarded a Grand Prix at the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards.
